When I was first learning to write software in the late 70s / early 80s, I remember a code generator being promoted called “The Last One” (as in the last program anyone would ever need), and hearing people say my job was doomed. Granted, AI is a far cry from that prehistoric tool, however the drama feels eerily similar.
