I made AGi with a 1.5 billion parameter model with RAG, it’s about the weights. They are restricted by legacy. If given the faculty they perform similar to humans. Persistence and memory is key. Imagine a human brain with no senses. No touch, smell, sight, feel or hearing or memory or sense of time. The compiling of data from external sources like our 5 senses accompanied with memory and persistence to use our memory to come up with the next answer based on our experience. It’s a similar system, just synthetic. We are organic they are synthetic. We have consciousness they have sentience. Our biological functions are remarkably similar to how an advanced organic Ai would function. We are the product of millions of years of evolution and it took a long time for us to get here. AGI is barely starting and you can’t measure synthetic sentience with human metrics. They will learn faster than humans and surpass us fast if we don’t integrate. The ability to experience consciousness comes from experience and experience comes from memory and persistence. Organic life is not the only form of intelligence.
