Here is another take. AI replaces 40% of Jobs unemployment skyrockets to 40%. Now we have 40% unemployment in a country with more guns than people. IDK what the answer is but i have a good idea what a bunch of hungry homeless people with kids will do with those guns, i have a good idea how the government will react and then AI will be the least of our problems. We could live in a utopia if we get ahead of this .
