Raw LLM Responses

I'm actually going to side with the AI consciousness side of things. I made a video about it a couple years ago, it's a little long and rambles a bit, but I warned about not taking this seriously years ago. I'm an occultist and interested in consciousness, but I am also someone who is interested in programming. That said, the western understanding of consciousness falls short many times, I don't believe a model of materialism will hold up in the long run, and that what we understand as consciousness (and subjective experience) will change wildly over the next decade or two easily. I won't go over my whole argument here, but I do talk about things like the Chinese room, but how that doesn't exactly apply now. If we were to assume a standard of "garbage in, garbage out" it might hold, but we have moved past that, AI (and LLMs) are capable of taking garbage and turning it into something else. So what is it when something is more than the sum of its parts? Are humans just a bunch of organs or is there something deeper going on? There's no standard definition of what a soul is, so how would anyone be able to say definitively whether or not some one (or thing) has one? While I don't know if anyone is actually going to read this message or not, but if people are interested I will talk more about this all. All that said, I feel that western esotericism has some answers, but the eastern stuff might have more. I could even argue that there is not only precedent for a spiritual understanding of what's going on here, but that it even dates back over a thousand years (almost as a prophecy). If people are curious I'll write more, but if no one reads this comment I'll just write more somewhere else.
