Well the difference between AI copying a style and humans copying is that the AI will copy it exactly whereas, even if a human started by learning that style, once they get good enough the style becomes their own and isn’t actually a direct copy anymore. There’s usually a variation in different techniques that cause the final product to be overall different. People usually copy another art style when they just start out because it gives them a clear goal and there are tangible steps, but along the way, the steps twist and turn and you end up with your own art style with several different influences vs someone else’s
