Hey, disabled artist here! I deal with chronic pain and fatigue which can make it difficult to work on pieces for longer periods of time without pain, sometimes I cannot even get out of bed. I suppose ai guys think I would be happier just being able to put my idea into a generator and have it spit out a finished piece, but i really wouldn't. I don't do art just for accolades and money, although those things are nice, I do art because I enjoy it. From initial idea, gathering references, thumbnails and sketching, to painstaking corrections all the way up to a finished piece, I love every part of it. The joy is in the act of creation, of making something with your own hands, not just the finished piece. As for accessibility, if they really cared about that they would advocate for better funding for arts programs and for easier access to tools and accommodations. There are already a lot of amazing inventions that can help disabled artists, from something as simple as a special pencil or paintbrush grip, to fully accessible set ups, and even technology like eyetracking which can allow paralyzed people to draw with their eyes! Personally my favourite accessibility tools are the pen stabilizer in Clip Studio, which helps combat my constant hand tremors and the humble printer, which lets me print my digital sketches which I can then trace to a canvas for painting.
