Yupp, I just straight up agree with Charlie here. I'm a very very fucking basic bitch Artist, I've sold some paintings, nothing ground breaking. If you're using AI to create a meme, or to create Tokens for your D&D game to sell your story better - I don't care, go right fucking ahead, dude. What really fucks with me is when it's sold or copyrighted. People have told me that "Well, you learn from other people so how come the AI isn't allowed to do that?" Because the AI isn't a fucking person with rights, it's not a consciousness, it's not "allowed" to do anything - it's a program that YOU use. They don't seem to understand that they aren't arguing "pro-free speech and anti-art-gatekeeping" they are arguing "pro-companies get to use whatever they want, if the image is on their site and anti-YOU made something." Don't give Corporations the power over your art, even if you think you can't draw, you can just sit down with a pen and paper and if you doodle enough, it might appeal to someone and hell, maybe even you will like it - keep going for a few years and it might look fantastic to more people; but YOU CAN. Don't let Corporations take that away from you. Midjourney isn't your friend. The AI isn't a Machine Mind sitting and waiting for you to show up so that it can help you, it's a machine that uses codewords, tokens and patterns to "paint in" an image from pre-existing images. You might think that is what you'd be doing if you tried to draw, but it isn't, what you paint, even if it is based off of something else, will have travelled through your brain and your perspective even if you want it or not - that's what makes art into "Art" the fact that You spent your time on it and that you did it for a reason. Painting a shitty version of your Anime Waifu on toiletpaper is still a reflection of your state of mind, the time you live in and your resources at hand - don't listen to those people who want to take that from you, they don't UNDERSTAND this.
