I highly disagree with your positioning Sam. You are not necessarily whining over spoiled milk. You are whining over a cup of water that was mixed with milk. The spoiled milk can be cleaned, whereas, the milk mixed with water can't be filtered out. It is an obvious statement to say that what is happening is not right and that data laundering is a real thing. But not even all artist in the world can help stop the free market from innovating for profit. Don't be an archaic taxi driver complaining about the advent of uber. Flip your switch and flip the switch of your fanbase, otherwise you are holding on everyone's development and evolution as an artist. It makes perfect sense for you to be in denial and angry but those are not productive sentiments, because, the more you deny AI, the more time it will take for you and other artists to realize that you still have the technique you perfectioned and that you can use it in much better ways. The artist who needed 10 hours to draw a character can now do it in 10 minutes if he trains his own AI. That leaves 9 hours and 50 minutes that he/she can use to enrich his art. - Something that was visual, can now have audio. - Something that was static, can now have movement. - A character who didn't have a narrative can now have a whole story. - What was once an image, can actually be a whole movie. I think you should step out the comfort zone and realize that if a machine can do what only you were able to do in the past, you should learn new techniques and the machines are here to help you, because at the end of the day, that is what technology has always been, an extension of our biological capacities.
