I think in the end I’ve come to the conclusion that AI isn’t really making anything worse. Like the internet, it merely exposes the bad that was already there. The people who make AI slop wouldn’t have been artists if AI didn’t exist. The people who use AI to cheat on tests and generate those same tests were getting that stuff from other students or the internet before that point. AI is not forcing people to not have integrity or a passion for artistic improvement, they never had it at all. The only aspect I find genuinely concerning about AI is the potential for scams and fake videos, but even then those scammers were there long before AI. AI and slop like it will never die because it is not denying human nature, it is appealing to a fundamental if negative part of human nature.
