The reason I don’t believe we’re that close to AGI? Because they spent so long promising us “AI,” then delivered us chatbots and called them “AI,” and then said “Well AGI is down the road.” What they promised as AGI is what they promised as AI from the beginning. They’re going to give us something half-baked as AGI because some marketing team needs something shipped and out the door before an earnings report, and then they’ll start promising us “Ultra AI”
