I get people being mad because its taking some of ‘their potential money’, however, saying AI steals art is like saying that someone stole some other persons art as he took inspiration from his style imo The way AI works is you have to feed it hundreds of millions of images specifically from you so that it then ‘steals’ your style completely. It just is trained by feeding it art from billions of images online, and it doesn’t need to be ‘art’ only, you have to feed it normal pictures of things so that it can generate them as well. So someone saying an AI which is fed millions and millions of images to produce some photos is stealing their art is an exaggeration, plus, something could also be said that this is the developers’ hard work and income as well. At the end of the day, if you like an artist’s style go for it, if you like the AI style pay for it. Its just another competitor on the market. Note that I am one of the fields which AI will also enter very soon. There are already tons of AI that writes code out there its just a matter of time.
