That's actually an interesting phenomenon I recently discussed with a friend;
We as humans are afraid of AI being sentient at some point (or most are anyway, most educated people aren't I'd argue but you get the gist) but yet we are the ones anthropomorphizing them by thanking them or saying please while they wouldn't feel offended if we didn't- we are the ones assuming emotion here.
