To add onto your argument against the “AI is just a new art tool” BS, the fundamental idea behind art tools is that it gives the artist more creative control. They do so by being reliable and consistent.
If Photoshop or Procreate decided to do something that you didn’t ask for it to do at random times, they would be awful art tools.
Additionally, if someone wanted to slow down one of your speed draws and draw along with you, the more skillful and practiced that student is, the closer to the original the copied drawing will look.
“AI art tools” are inconsistent by design. They are meant to take AWAY creative control, not give you more of it. You can never follow along an AI art tutorial, and no matter how skilled you are at prompt-writing, the machine will ALWAYS make a random decision that you never had the option to make.
These are anti-art tools.
