Besides there is this ugly thing called inflation yeah, if you give everyone free money whilst not increasing the real output of the economy, you are basically just making everything more expensive through new competition amongst the consumers “fighting” to consume limited supply of goods. Taking the abovementioned in account UBI is essentially just a way to push low income earners slightly higher on the socio-economic scale while pushing middle income earners down since they won’t reap much benefit and will solely suffer the inflationary effect... congrats to all idiots whi blindly worship the idea of UBI. The only scenario in which it might make sense is that in which the majority of human labour HAS ALREADY BEEN replaced by automation and thus it’s not wanted anymore. If/once we get there it will certainly be necessary to somehow compensate those who do not possess any extraordinary talents which might still push society forward and thus have nothing to offer to the extremely shrunk labour market. Until then, UBI just isn’t feasible.
