So while I do agree about the copyright laws. They only apply to a products made outside of china. China has no copyright law that works the same way as other nations. They never have, they never will. This is how they've gotten away with stealing other nations and company's IP and designs and products for years. And anytime someone's tried to take them to court over it it's being thrown out because the US courts and European courts etc don't have the ability to actually enforce anything in China. Now you do have to give part of your company over to a CCP owned one to operate in China but that's the trade off. My own company that I work for, they're a little bit of an evil empire In all honesty. Moved all of their factories to China for the slave labor. And there's already companies building new firms for their AI models over to China purely to avoid the copyright issue. So while we can do something about it in the states and in other westernized nations. The moment that one of these Chinese models becomes sufficient at actively generating new images. Then there's nothing companies like Disney or really anyone can do. I mean Disney's tried to sue Chinese companies before and they've not even made it past the front door of courthouse. They'll get a fine from their us version paid out to them and then continue on making the copyrighted material as usual because again they just have no authority in China.
