Creating knowledge responses based on a set of rules and a database of knowledge doesn't make something sentient. But we live in an age where you are what you feel, independent of reality, and you can lose your job and be scorned and culturally shunned if you don't go along with the lies. So AI and sentient definitions will be whatever the thought thugs tell you it is and if you don't agree you'll be shunned.
