I like you Bernie but there’s no need to become a Luddite. Imagine if people had this attitude about cars and electricity as depicted in The Gilded Age where workers were worried about electricity making jobs obsolete. AOC had a better take on this when she said automation will free us to spend our time as we like. And what happens when technology enables us to produce a lot of what we need in our homes? How about when we can modify our bodies to not even need a lot of what we need now? Go read some futurist news. If we’re going to limit tech, what happens when people want jobs back that no longer exist? Going to legislate it so that digital music is banned? Going to ban the Internet so we can bring back jobs in print media? You can’t limit tech to preserve transportation and manufacturing jobs and nothing else. Your solutions aren’t bad, but to really come up with good solutions you have to have a great understanding of the whole picture being woven by hundreds of emerging technologies.
