Hilarious. What they're describing is still a doomsday scenario. If AI tools allow individuals to become more efficient at their job then companies will still need less staff. If every company with 200 backoffice employees suddenly only need 50 backoffice employees. That is still unemployment at a scale never seen. Those people will need UBI or some sort of social welfare, companies will have all the lobbying power so they still won't get taxed, so it'll be the 50 employees still working that will see their taxes increase, to pay the UBI, so the return on investment for those employees will be awful. The only winners will be the Trillion dollar companies. As always. they mention "retraining" but never actually give a reasonable example other than "uhhh plumbers and electricians". The world doesn't need an extra 100+million plumbers and electricians.
