an easy difference between a tool and what ai is for me is its intention. a tool is meant to be use by a person to enhance what they are doing or offer a new way of doing it, Ai is currently intended to replace the human, its sole purpose it to get rid of the person doing the work.( this destroys jobs and creativity and will lead to ai canabalizing itself eventually when no one is making anything new) this could change but it would be a big process to make AI a tool for artists and creatives, and not a threat.
