We are so screwed. It's amazing the looks and responses I get from people when this topic comes up in conversation. They usually jokingly smile at first and are then taken aback by how serious they see I am about the risks of AI. Especially since they generally know I'm not some tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist or religious fundamentalist shouting, "The end is nigh!" If you're not extremely worried about AI, you're not paying attention or grasping the reality of the situation.
