This is why I can't bring myself to even acknowledge the quality of AI "art." There's never any soul to it. It always lacks something so fundamental, something you can only get when a human's hands are behind it. Sure, it makes it easier to create, but isn't the joy and thrill of being an artist more about the process? Some of my proudest creations are things I spent hours on, things that were difficult and pushed me to actually try and see my vision through. The fulfillment doesn't come when I finally post a song, it comes when I'm hours into making it and realize that all of that time and effort came together into something only I could bring to life. It comes from knowing that that struggle, that process, results in a kind of connection that can't be manufactured, a connection to humanity. Is throwing away what makes art human really worth the efficiency AI grants us? What is the point of art if it serves only as a product of calculations and code, rather than the deeply human product of our creativity and desire to connect? (sorry if this barely makes sense im elevated and just ranting tbh)
