Hmmm... I thought about it. If you ask me, you can tell an AI is conscious when people start questioning themselves over the topic. Meaning that it might get to a point in which people will start considering that they are not conscious, just because they resemble far too much with an AI. Not everyone, obviously. But I suppose it's somewhat the same as with the people considering that dogs are conscious.
