Rhett. Just a thought… if AI is used to interpret data as you say, to figure out what works and what doesn’t, isn’t there a possibility that AI's interpretation of that data is influencing the creative trends then…?
I had not considered this issue before, until I heard you comment on your use of AI.
I had also thought about using AI to analyze data (I'm not a creator, but a producer for long-running series). We feed off of data (daily production goals, daily/ weekly budget analysis, and so on) to measure the health of a project. What concerns me is, if you take that collected data at face value, and indiscriminately assume AI's interpretation as factual, are we not allowing AI to induce certain decisions that may lead us to unwanted results?
I feel it then becomes a case of "checking the checker," because AI doesn’t possess human intuition- for the time being, anyway. Which amounts to a whole lot of work to (a) try to prove AI wrong and to push for your vision; and (b) to defend a contrary position in front of the bean counters, who will mostly pick the AI "safe" interpretation of the direction to follow.
But I'm not flatly denying the huge advantage of data gathering- as long as AI's being used as a data collection tool. As I see it, the problem arises when we ask AI to interpret that data and provide us with a path forward. When it comes to creation, "objective" is not always the way forward.
It’s a sticky wicket…
