The current usage of AI is really heartbreaking. People are using it as a crutch and a cheat as opposed to a tool. Plus, one of the biggest technical problems with these image generators is the scope of their ambition, driven by corporate greed. They try to do everything when it would be much more effective to let one artist or group of artists train and use a model as a kind of prepared canvas for high volume projects or just as a tool for exploration of ideas. AI should not be our replacement. It should be an extension of our honest selves. But I fear that maybe it already is.
