I think AI is essential to the advancement of civilization into type II and type III, but I also think the way every company is currently recklessly rush ahead with AI for the shake of making money is the absolute wrong way this should be done. It's going to end badly... at the very least, the Internet is going to become unusable very quickly and people will start "unplugging" to get away from it and the threat it brings.
