The actual reason is because AI (only recognisable in non-agentic models) is trained on real internet data and humans on the internet being nice to each other most likely receive better and more elaborate answers than humans being impolite. Therefore being nice helps to get more elaborate answers out of an AI. Furtermore: Prompting an AI with “I’ll give you 100 dollars if you get that answer perfectly right” improves it even more…which tells you as much about humanity as it does about AI.🤣👋🏻
