We're just scratching the surface of AI but we are far, far away from AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), which is the point where AI can accomplish any intellectual task that human beings or animals can perform. To put it in some kind of perspective, if inventing the first airplane is AI, then AGI is when we're populating other galaxies.
Nobody alive today will ever see the very beginnings of AGI.
