I promise we dont forge our entire idea of art and our own preferences on aesthetics from what we've previously observed!!!!" This is what you sound like. AI works no different than us. Sure they pull from a larger dataset, and their entire understanding is based solely on other's art but as artists our style our understanding of art is based on other's just as much as it is (if not more) based on outside factors (like drawing something wonky and liking it). Also in terms of legality there is absolutely not copyright infringement. Stability is right that you could very well go to court over it, but there is no law or precedent on the matter. If you get it to be ruled that style is copyrightable you've just unleashed hell on the creative space in the worst possible way. Just like it has for the music industry. Enjoy going to court because you drew a few lines to close to how joe bob does it. Not what I want for the artistic community. I get it, we put absolute blood, sweat, and tears into our craft. It hurts to see that work be trivialized. But, outside of self preservation this does nothing for the creative space. Its not the best analogy but imagine we kept using horse and buggy because horse breeders wanted to keep that market share (though its not as if artists are going to be stamped out). Also its just a fact of the matter you can't stop it anyways. Not at a consumer level anyhow.
