I don't see anything wrong with AI art if it's only used for personal/non-commercial use. Eg: I have a neat dream and want to save it in a more info-dense format (picture vs words) and for funzies I want it in the style of Studio Trigger. Just slap a non-visubal "made by AI, art style = $Artist" on it. As far as any public/commercial use goes, a good compromise might be a 50-66% payout vs if you did it yourself.
I think the real benefit and a good working model for the animation studios would be using AI in place of CGI for background characters or scenes where there is a crowd, I would also be in favor of using it to take some load off the air director who would have to check all the frames so people could self eval from the reference models, or color templating. I think the more commercial path would be to have each artist register/train their own model that has the same artistic rights as them and let that follow them from job to job as part of their personal toolkit. Or even a license model per studio per series. Lots of horror stories about how animators are treated, this kinda setup might make it where they could meet deadlines and have a personal life still. If it's also your model you train, you will still need to be on tap to fix anything odd it might do or provide additional training if it's something it's never done before. Hmm, wonder if you could also play the 100-year copyright game with it also....
