While I am obviously against mindless, knee-jerk, luddite laws that amount to nothing more than _"Waah! Waaaah!_ New Thing is scary! Make the New Thing go away! (Unless, of course, you're a rich mega-corporation, in which case feel free to pay us a bunch of money and do whatever you like.)", it is 100% _necessary and urgent_ to enact AI regulations that are both stringent and _thoughtful._
The potential for abuse inherent in AI technology is obviously enormous, and is _already being realised_ wherever mindless greed and equally mindless technophilia coincide.
But apparently the internet would rather scream about "How _dare_ a computer _look at_ my publicly posted images?! That's _theft!!!_ Now pay me lots of money! 🤑"
