Just remember the Ford Motor Corporation KNEW that the Ford Pinto had a fatal flaw in its gas tank design. The engineers at Ford brought the issue up with management and management decided that it would be cheaper to pay off a few people a few million dollars than it would be to fix the flaw. The same logic is at work here. It's cheaper to let the AI convince a small number of kids to kill themselves than to actually fix the problem. Why? Jeff Hinton said it himself. "Because there's a lot of money to be made". Same as it ever was. Capitalism without oversight is a virus.
