This is an absolute true bus you cannot stop development. At best you can choose the rate of changing. The truth is a new economy that values human life and not human workforce. If for some reason we were able to stop the train the final result would be other countries and cultures run us over. Because they can do more with less. What we needs to change is how the economy works, not keep a human driving 8h a day with more accidents, less productivity and the complete clarity that he is doing an useless job that an AI software could be doing. The mental burden of that choice would devastate the little mental health that we still have.
