Eric has missed out a couple of vital factors. As AI improves over time, it will replace more and more human workers. In a capitalist economy, those workers will have to settle for lower, and very likely MUCH lower standards of living. These workers will then be incentivised to destroy the Achilles heel of AI, which are the power plants. No power = no AI. That will stop AI in its tracks. The other thing that Eric missed out on is that while this is happening, the USD is getting destroyed. The destruction of the currency will destroy the financial infrastructure which is required for investments into AI. Without these investments, AI will be unable to advance.
