The culture that is developing AI is, unquestionably, insular and self-promoting and remarkably narrow in it's scope. It's a club house of sorts, and as such has developed it's own specialized kind of speech, one which either organically or intentionally excludes the concerns of those mysterious organisms who are routinely described as human beings. Perhaps those who crafted the Magna Carta or the Declaration of Independence were more guided by crude, humanistic and imperfect political impulses than the kind of icy logic that seems more focused on raw productivity than any other consideration. Those who are most focused on productivity are those, clearly, those who most benefit from it. The people who are promoting AI do not give a shit about the fortunes of average people, advertising disruption [ the 'move fast and break things' credo being one of the most nihilistic slogans I have ever encountered ] as an attribute, nevermind that sudden disemployment is for most people quite traumatic and dislocating. There is something distinctly cruel in the mix here, something psychopathic, as one of the main features of psychopathy is an abrasive kind of callousness, a pathological disinterest in the lives and fortunes of others. The definition of artificial is --'items, materials or behaviors produced by human work rather than occurring naturally, often serving as a simulation, substitute, or copy of something real'.
