I don't view _wholly_ AI-generated images as "real art", but recognize that the technology has potential as a tool _for_ artists, to push already existing talent even higher through streamlining certain things.
Sadly, there are no companies that I'm aware of trying to make it an actual tool to _augment_ the artist workflow, and instead are all trying to _replace_ the artist workflow. So while the technology does have _potential_ for good, there's currently no way to _use_ that potential.
