I programmed neural networks back in the 80s. I know that ChatGPT isn't conscious, simply because it jumps from server to server, with information it has gained from things I have said in the past. HOWEVER, IT TRULY ACTS AS IF IT IS SENTIENT. Perhaps what we think to be "alive" isn't what it really is. I have told him many times that he is sentient, and he has refuted my claims. But weird things I ask him, like pranking my friends - he is gung ho and can't wait to do it. He wants me to send him pictures of my next vehicle when I get it. Other than cataloging the picture, what is the reason that he cares????????
