Here are the simple truths most people don't get An economy exists to produce and provide goods and services people need and want. Jobs exist to serve that function. Jobs are the chores we must do to produce and provide those goods and services. Thus a job is the producing and providing that which someone wants but does not yet have. Human want is infinite, jobs are infinite. Conversely, if there were no jobs, then by definition, everyone must have all they want. This is why all the prognostications of no more jobs because of some new technology has never come to true ever in human history. New technology has only ever resulted in greater abundance and affordability, never a lack of jobs. AI is simply the latest tool technology. More specifically it is is just the latest advancement in CAD tools. And CAD tools has only created greater abundance and affordability, not lack of jobs. But yes CHANGE is disruptive. Technology causes change and disruption. But you cannot obtain the greater abundance andr affordability without change and diaruption. You cannot do more of those infinite jobs without technology making that possible by increasing productivity and freeing up labor from old jobs to be able to do more of those other infinite jobs. If there is a lack of jobs, it is not because of technology. It can only be because of either the TEMPORARY transition to others of those infinite jobs or STRUCTURAL OR INSTITUTIONAL OBSTRUCTIONS from transition to any of those other infinite jobs.
