It doesn't make finite resources infinite. More people equals the need for more drinking water, food, housing, infrastructure, fossil fuels, technology, you name it. While we struggle to have enough at this moment in time, all along the while the world population is only growing. I don't think it will give us more time, it will need to us to behave a certain way, a predictable way in order for it to better our lives, and we won't do that. So the scenario of doom is all the more real with AI in our lives. Well the "run free" type of AI that is.
