Art is like any activity, sure some people advance quicker more naturally than others, but it is learned, and if people put in the time and effort they can learn that skill. As someone who does a lot of creative or skill-needing activities (art, guitar, drums, writing and filmmaking, dance, Colorguard, and I dabbled in crochet) I put in hours of effort. I’ve been drawing since I was 7, been teaching myself those instruments for 2 years and still can barely play, I’ve been writing stories since I could write, am still finding my feet in filmmaking, and especially in dance after struggling for 3 years I’m finally getting complemented, and the same with Colorguard. I’m not talented in any of these things, I’m not someone who could be told “you were born to do ___” but I’ve put in the time and effort and passion to be told I have a gift by multiple teachers. That gift isn’t raw talent, it’s hard work, and AI takes that work away from us.
