I saw a video, years ago, titled, "Humans need not apply". It touched on this sort of stuff and pointed out that NO job, no matter how complex, is immune. In fact, I think we're seeing the fallout from this impacting employment already. Ai is taking over so much. We are quickly approaching a world that can function just fine with zero human input. I mean EVERYTHING. I'm glad I'm over 70.
BTW, self driving vehicles don't have to be 100% safe. They just need to be as safe as human drivers. And there is zero chance they will not become MUCH more safe than humans. In fact, I have little doubt that there will be places where only self driving vehicles will be allowed because they can coordinate without traffic lights, etc.
