Ai art sucks and until the government gives complete copyright and royalties to artists it will be an epidemic. The issue is the old folk that don’t understand the gravity of the issue are the ones making the internet laws. I animate with AI rotoscoping on my other channel but I also make my own art. It’s morally reprehensible to use another persons art because I know what drawing takes from an artist. As an artist I use my own style explicitly And find the creation aspect when finished with a short or test to be exactly like that of finishing any project. Animators call it lazy filmmaking but forget it was first introduced in 1978 for the animated lord of the rings and first studied using a car headlight and film copying in the mid 1920s. When I first watched the lord of the rings 1978 I fell in love with what was at the time the first illustration of live action organic human movement. To me it’s a tool like copy paste or paint bucket or outline or layer which didn’t exist 20 years ago. Ai art should be used to create variations of your own artwork and using others artwork should be a crime. There needs to be a system implemented into the ai that detects copyright information when used and Royalties should go to the artist directly. The only issue I find is exposure. While any proceeds could go to the artist they still wouldn’t get valuable exposure. If you use someone’s art don’t do it commercially and place the artists information over it. Exposure is very valuable to an artist. I just find the whole debacle full of lunacy and bias sometimes. I’m not too good at art but I have my own style and that’s enough for what I want to do with it. My priority is the story board and the movement of characters. Like everything hand animation like studio ghibli will always have a stranglehold on the market as it’s pure animation that takes incredible effort and studying. I don’t classify rotoscoping as animation despite being animated as 90 percent of the work is a live action scene and its only animated at the very end of the process. Art in itself is much more dangerous as ai art is still a portrait and doesn’t change its medium like film does. It’s interesting that both fields are going through an ai epidemic. I have my heart out for all artists more than animators. Once ai can animate directly that might change. It’s a scary unjust world we live in. A real artist after the feeling of the process when removed of money or tools will make a picture with mere sticks and leaves or their own being. Art will never die even in a coming dark age because to real artists the art is always what comes first. Artists that create purely for money are purposeless souls. We need you and every other artist who lives and breathes creation to stand in front of congress for change to happen. Instead it’s a google exec that can’t answer questions and doesn’t explain gravity. It’s an important issue and I pray all artists are able to enforce that change. I hope the consensus one day puts effort and creativity over flashy abundance but the people aren’t all artists I suppose.❤️🙏
