While I'm not in favor of the idea of revenge porn or deep fakes I do see logical legal issues with both. In the case of revenge porn, if the images were created consensually, then normal copywrite law should apply.
In the case of revenge porn these laws seem to geared to protect people from their own mistakes. It also assumes that people have a right to their own likeness and this isn't represented anywhere else in US Law.
In the case of deep fakes, seems like "transformative" aspect of fair use would apply. Unless the producer of the images or video is claiming it is real - it seems like it should be legal. Esp in contrast of other legal precedent.
What is the end goal of these laws? To have legal control of others perception of you. Where else in the law is something factual obtained with consent is banned from being shared because of how it may affect someone's opinion of you.
