The problem is AI already widely used in design and an area most people don't have in mind when they talk about art: Advertising. There were always ads that could qualify as art and became appreciated for their artistic qualities long after the actual products went out of sale. So I freat that through advertising and desing AI "art" may find a backdoor into public awareness and still become normalized. Many people can't recognize AI art and may start linking the styles. This way artists might be driven to emulate it and or give in after all. I don't see this ending in any good way unless there's a big AI crash or a Bulterian Jihad.
