AI should be a tool for ages 21 and up. It will further rot the brains of our younger generations and I would know as I’m Gen Z. I even used it a few years ago while in college and yes it was nice for complex organic chemistry problems where I could find no solution in a book or online, but we should not be using it to write critical thinking analysis, essays and articles. There is great value in learning to think for yourself and I fear that skill will be lost upon the coming generations because of AI if we are not careful. AI is a beautiful tool, like a well tuned firearm; it should be treated with reverence and respect and honed in before haphazard use as the damage it can deal will not be easily reversible.
