I think you took the "AI art is lower cost of entry" thing a bit too literal. To clarify, I'm against AI art, but I do think there is a genuine sentiment behind that. Less cost and more time investment. Between learning art and typing a single sentence to generate one piece of art, there's a very clear distinction for one who is unwilling or unable to put in the time to learn to draw. Similarly, the time investment between generating a piece of art and drawing one yourself, which can be considerable.
But I also think a significant portion of those comments are simply attempts to justify a "New tech is better" approach. The fact that AI marketing has been geared towards investors, etc. They think it's going places, not that it is places.
However, I do think that particular response was lacking, just because there are some convincing merits buried beneath the slop.
I think there's also some significant counter argument in terms of if you transferred the money to time, in other words, if they have to work for money, they convert time to money, etc. However, given the location that most of the AI hype is located in, the USA, and the culture therein, which heavily assumes that your time is being spent earning money as a default, then you can sort of understand the logic that if you have already exchanged time for money, then you should therefore be able to spend money to do art.
With both those points, I think if someone was genuinely invested in learning art, it doesn't take a significant time investment day-to-day, but for someone who may not have the time to even look into methods of learning art, it might be more constructive to inform them of such methods as opposed to primarily bashing AI art in general. It could simply be viewing art as a significant barrier, or "I'm not good at art right now" which without being explained in simple terms how it is not necessarily, would be hard to understand.
With regards to disabled artists, I'm admittedly in the blue. I wouldn't even have the slightest clue for how one would be easier than the other unless you were physically incapable of holding a pen, in which case I would be looking more towards eye-tracking technology, or be looking into the advancements into mind-reading. There are some amazing advancements being done towards playing games entirely handless, which I think has significantly more promise for those sorts of people.
Regardless, there are always honest people hidden between the disingenuous actors that I think could be benefitted by some slightly more constructive advice. However, if you choose not to due to the marketable success of these types of videos, and the unlikeliness that the other type of video might even reach that type of audience, I can also understand.
