Ok so as a disabled artist (I get ADHD is pretty weak sauce compared to others but I still wanna add my feedback on this) I actually have found art as a way to better express what I think and feel and how my perspective differs from other people or is similar to others on the spectrum. Art has become one of the most important parts in my life outside of my faith, mental health and relationships that have all developed me into the person that I am today. I think that ai can be a tool within limits and do understand where artists can be coming from when they have art block and are desperate to come up with something, but it feels like nothing short of a slap in the face when someone is able to make money off of something fake when I am still struggling to make it through my senior year of college and unable to afford art school while also being told that my profession is 'not real' just as much as I've been told my disability and mental health issues aren't real because they're harder to be seen and I've put in more than 8 years of therapy to make myself more acceptable/tolorable to feel I simply have the right to exist. I intend to keep creating regardless of the struggle because I firmly believe that no matter what technology attempts to replicate as a human, the flaws and imperfections that make humanity great are what will keep art real. From abstract to realism to cartoons of all shapes styles and cultures. Imperfections are what make the masterpieces of all art, visual, musical and emotional. True beauty is the awareness and embracing of flaws because when 'perfection' finally does exist, I think we're getting a taste of how truly hollow these expectations are. It's good to want to improve and to want to make the best work you can as an artist, but much like my disability, I wouldn't be the person I am today without it. I wouldn't have come so far if I was able to just click a button and suddenly be popular or attractive. I needed to learn how to talk to people and survive just as much as I had to learn how to shade hair or draw hands. To this DAY I am learning. And I never plan to stop.
