Hi, Hank! I work for one of the largest legal tech companies, and our biggest product, of course, is the generative and agentic AI. While it is convenient, it is scary because of those hallucinations. We have both attorneys and now judges that have been disbarred or sanctioned tens of thousands of dollars and removed from the bench for citing to hallucinations and not checking and reading the cites which AI is citing to. I have met with a few attorneys who have been sanctioned between $10,000-$30,000 for citing to hallucinated case law through non-legal AI platforms. My job is as a Legal Research & Solutions Consultant, but my job has really turned into 90% how to prompt AI and 10% how to legal research. I think this technology era will turn to younger generations needing to understanding how new technologies are functioning and created.
