I truly don't see how AI art can be called ART. I experimented with it and IMMEDIATELY found that the so-called ART it allegedly CREATED could easily be found in a Google images search. At least 60% of the images it "created" under the guidelines I gave it were immediately recognized from previous inspiration searches I, personally, have done.
As an acrylic painter, I think it's only fair to give credit to the art that inspired my art when using a piece for inspiration. At the very least, I post the original art with the caption "this piece was my inspiration for my piece." When possible I will mention and tag the artist of the inspirational reference piece.
