AI sure, but also prepping for a recession while wanting to project profitability via layoffs to ensure executive bonuses.
The AI excuse is a bit lazy and spoon fed by the same orga performing the layoffs. It can only be substantiated if there were millions of dollars in AI procurement and successfull rollout.
Otherwise you're going to see a lot of corps post some surprisingly bad numbers, to which they'll blame everything but AI.
