I think if AI reached the true singularity, hopefully it would be gracious enough to see life as valuable and beautiful, and maybe fix all the wrongdoings of our species. But that's true singularity level AI, which would not only have to be unbelievably complex to handle all the information and calculations, but also be everywhere at once so it could measure the true probability of events based on all factors. The issue right now is that you can probably create an AI smart enough to take over the world, but not to fix it completely. Any person in a position of immense power is probably jumping at the opportunity to outsource the enforcers of law to machines, but only if they can be controlled as well. Algorithmic art generators as they are now could be a really great tool and novelty if the data is gathered with consent or by choice of the artist. If that's how these systems worked then it would be completely doable to get these algorithms trained enough to have a good baseline of complexity. Then you could charge a fee for access to the tool, but you're also able to create your own dataset with your portfolio, or other non copyrighted reference material. But this is also operating with the assumption that a more advanced AI won't get just good enough to actually make unique and creative decisions based on its data. But also that a shitty AI wont be created by some power hungry fools in hopes of control, and make this entire argument obsolete. I guess to summarize, i think that art created by living breathing organisms and the divine cosmos will always be valued among any who can see the meaning and value in it, but if we create the AI that creates art, it was also part of the grand design, so whatever it produces is art no matter how you spin it. But this technology could easily be the biggest turning point for our species. It could either bring unimaginable peace if brought to a true point of singularity in understanding, or it could be the beginning of the end if designed by the wrong people for the wrong reasons. So all in all, fuck the stupid companies having ego trips, convinced they can do no wrong by using other peoples work and private information without their consent. Fuck people in power for trying to use this tech for all the wrong reasons, and fuck humans for putting a price tag on creative expression
